THE PROJECT
The Dream
A visionary instigation by Mr. M.S. Khatib, New Face of India Production House (NFIPH) is born with a dream to create a new dimension in the Indian Cinema & not just making movies. Today, our country - India is at peril by the lethal disease of cancer; a cancer that is expanding in terms of poverty, hatred, rage, violence, hunger for food and power and much more. Our dream is to create a momentum - to strive for a better India for our new generations; to unite all people as one family who will stand against fight & exterminate this cancer forever from the heart of our Motherland. We cannot change the world completely, but we can definitely make a difference.
The Inspiration
Lebanon – Israel War in 2006 took lives of thousands of Lebanese people including children. It literally shook the very core of them, shattering their lives, leaving them nowhere. The sight was so disgusting & sad; thousands of dead bodies, bloodshed & no one to take care. Children’s dead bodies were dumped as if it were nothing but rotten vegetables. The sight of it brought tears to eye corners of Mr. Khatib. This hurt led him to think that it was high time for all human beings, if not, at least Indians who stand out due to their sincerity, kindness and sensitivity, to look above our personal needs, individual desires, caste classification, creed & religion. It is time to move forward and higher than individual and common hatred, territorial distinctions and lust for power. And after quite a few episodes of self-talk, he decided to take up this task & become an initiator of spreading the message to all; starting from his own home – India & taking around the world.
The Approach
The task was in hand & the strategy was devised; strategy to work at the grass root level. Why? It is very evident how much damage a war can do to people’s lives & their country. War & riots not only shatter human lives, but also they give birth to economic crisis leading to poverty in that country. And poverty being the most callous distress in the world, it inherits most perilous effects to the future generations of the country. Children are deprived of home, food, education & many things that are quite necessary to become good human beings; apparently they are thrown to the mercy of street life. These children, who could have become excellent doctors, businessmen, or government officers tomorrow, fall into the traps of bad company; become soft targets for antagonists or criminals who use them for their repulsive motives. And after years, the ultimate result of it is far monstrous & almost irreparable. Who is to be blamed for that - No one but US! But what do we do about it? We see things happening around us & all we do is act dumb & ignore or just get into the blame game of cursing each other. There are thousands of such children on the streets of our own country; children who are the foundation of our nation. It becomes our responsibility to make this foundation strong enough so we can create new leaders out of them & NOT terrorists or some underworld DONS. Why not we re-create a history, history known as Dr. Ambedkar? Why not we start this right from our own home, our own country – India?
Working at the root level needs a mass level reach. And films are the best influence today to reach that mass. Poverty is normally portrayed & characterized through film media by artists & directors, most of whom have never experienced the pathos & depravity of poverty. Countless films have been produced on the subject with very few revealing the actual pain of its reality. We intend to address POVERTY with a different perspective & attempt to present the harsh reality & ugly face of poverty. We aim to provide the audience, an opportunity to fully empathise with this unfortunate, uncared & discarded facet of humanity. However, our efforts do not end here. It goes beyond film making, as we try, no matter how insignificant or small our contribution may be, to change society’s thinking towards its responsibilities for the downtrodden & alleviate the prevalence of poverty. Time has proved that gathering seminars, holding conferences & offering presentations on the issue can earn the attention of few listeners or a film on such subject can emotionalize public to shed few tears. Is this the solution? – NO! It’s Not!
The Mission
Our Mission is to contribute assertively in the path of poverty alleviation in India. We aim to bring our dream into reality by initiating Children Education Support Programme for Street Children with our own funds & inspire people to come forward & share the responsibility of creating a better India; India with a strong foundation. Our aim is not to change people, but change their perspective & make a difference to our country & the world. We aim to permanently remove the word – terrorism from our dictionaries as even it is a victim of something.
